If you are considering buying a Mini but you don't know where to start, pop in for a chat. We're a small old fashioned workshop and we love what we do. It's always great to meet fellow enthusiasts and there is strictly no sales pressure (it couldn't be further from that sort of place). It's always nicer to meet people, but where it helps we can deliver Mini's anywhere in the UK and we recommend an agency called Hill Shipping to deliver Mini's internationally. Deliveries within the UK are charged at cost price only and it works out to £0.95 per mile, based on a return journey. We only ask for the delivery payment up front, with the balance only paid once you've received the Mini and confirmed that you are over the moon.
Fast Road 1989 Austin Mini 1275cc Speedfreaks - Recently Rebuilt & Upgraded
Beautifully designed, frighteningly fast and completely rebuilt and upgraded, This Mini was built for and used only on a 1500 mile rally.
This Mini is built to combine raw power, with minimal weight and that iconic, rally winning, now upgraded classic Mini handling, she will give you that edge of your seat feeling, transport you with that classic motoring nostalgia, but also the peace of mind and pride that you have in a well built classic car.
1. Upgraded Power
Upgraded to a new Speedfreaks 1275cc engine, you will have that edge of your seat feeling. She’s terrifyingly fast, she feels faster than my factory 90bhp John Cooper Works.
2. Upgraded Handling
Upgraded to coil overs, SPAX adjustable shock absorbers and HI-LO adjustable ride height’s, you can play with her suspension height and harsheness to optimise her handling to your own perfection.
3. Pure Nostalgia
Upgraded to and combining a HIF 44 carburettor with the legendary Fletcher twin exit central exhaust, she drives, feels, sounds and smells like classic motoring, giving you no end of nostalgia.
4. Quality Build
Being completely stripped down and rebuilt with new frames, floors and panelwork, you don’t have to worry about rust. Supplied with a fully serviced engine, a freshly tuned and optimised carburettor and four new alloys and tyres, plus a fresh MOT and clean HPI certificate, you can have peace of mind about her maintenance.
5. Custom Interior
Having higher quality, wider, more bolstered seats, you can be more comfortable. Finished with new carpets, a new headlining and recovered dash panels, plus her centre console, an array of extra gauges and a Bluetooth music and DVD player, her interior stands out. There are some light marks to her seats and a little wear to the base of her passenger seat, personally I would dye them.
All in all, a beautiful mini with more power, more handling potential and pure nostalgia, a quality build which will put you very much in the driving seat, on it's edge. If you would like to see 50+ photographs of her, please use the following link www.gbminigarage.com/atj
Notes:
Four notes:
(a) Her engine has new: pistons, big end bearings and main bearings. She has a new high lift cam, ported head and reground crank, plus she is bored to +60;
(b) The mileage on her engine and the majority of her mechanical parts is 1500 miles only, most of these were all replaced newly during the rebuild. The lifetime mileage of her is just over 97,000 miles. There is a mileage discrepancy at the point of rebuild as she was upgraded to the later gauges which included a built in rev gauge (requires complete replacement of the whole gauge, including odometer, very common); and
(c) She’s not a brand new car, she isn’t straight of the showroom, even straight out of the showroom Mini’s were less than what you would expect today. She will have some marks and blemishes. That being said, she is a quality Mini, a Mini that you could be proud of; and(d) Whilst she wears the Cooper stickers, she pre-dates the second generation Cooper. That being said, she far outperforms and laps any standard Cooper.
