One of the Most Special & Collectible Mini's - Rover Special Products Mini Cooper Number 329 (The RSP)

Priced for the fast sale, cash-flow needed.

One of the rarest and most collectible models; the Rover Special Products Cooper (RSP), this being number 329 of 1050 produced.

Rover Special Products was a special division formed to develop a limited run of very special performance vehicles for Rover, led by John Cooper himself, Mini’s late eighties version of BMW’s M Cars or Audi’s RS. All vehicles were specially sold off plan and demand was so high that it influenced the immediate re-launch of the Cooper following a similar but lesser specification.

This example has it’s original, matching numbers, RSP numbered engine (the most important thing). Such engine was taken to a specialist 200 miles ago to be rebuilt and uprated to a high performance specification, above 2500rpm she is terrifyingly fast. At the same time her gearbox was rebuilt, timing chain and starter motor renewed, a new clutch, a new electronic ignition for reliability and a new Supalite exhaust for that classical roar.

Purchased from a specialist eight years ago, a full nut and bolt restoration was commissioned at the time.

Her body work is very good and without corrosion, all metalwork was replaced by the specialist, her rear subframe appears renewed. Car people will appreciate how, a lack of corrosion after 7 years, points to exceptional under paint preparation, future proofing this example from a rust perspective.

She is supplied with 12 months MOT and no advisories (single advisory for dust cover sorted), comprehensively serviced (engine, gearbox, brakes and coolant) and professionally tuned to optimise her power, with a HPI clear report.

Standard expected questions; she retains her original hens teeth seats and sunroof which seals (the special RSP parts that can’t be replaced). Her engine number and chassis number are matching and the correct RSP numbers, both appear original and untouched. Her chassis number is SAXXNNAM BAD 0103XX, the relevant letters being BAD which signifies an RSP. Her engine number is 12A2AF53100564, the relevant numbers being 12A2AF5310 which again signifies an RSP. She has five previous keepers (five years of ownership each on average).

If we were being super picky I would mention the standard mini oil drip from the driveshafts seal and timing chain cover, possibly afflicting 99% of Mini’s, we have stopped rectifying these as protocol because they do just re-appear. Some parts have been replaced or upgraded, these include her alloys, gauges and steering wheel, albeit these can be easily and cheaply sourced and we can assist if you were bothered (all of these were used on other mass produced models and therefore are readily available).

She is priced for the fast sale and we couldn't take offers.
