Unique Timewarp 18,000 Miles 1989 Austin Mini 30th Anniversary Limited Edition, Owned 29 Years (1 Previous Keeper) and Meticulously Maintained Despite Doing as Little as 20 Miles Per Year. Beautiful.

This is a unique time-warp example of the 30th Anniversary Limited Edition of the classic Mini, perfect for any collector.

Whilst she has covered just 18,000 miles from new and covered as little as 20 miles per year, she has routinely been taken to one of the same two garages for her MOT and a service nearly every year for 29 years. Such service was usually a full service which included a brake service and greasing. She has an extensive historical service history which is oultined below.

Mrs Woodford has owned her for 29 years and is only letting her go due to old age and becoming too ill to drive five years ago. It seems it has taken five years to convince her to let her go. Mrs Woodford primarily used her for driving too and from the hair salon where she worked.

She is a time-wap; her interior is just as it left the factory, she retains her original factory floors which are amazingly as new and she's just lovely throughout, she's in rust free condition. You could say she has a few stone chips collected over the years, but not much else.

Driving her puts truth to the phrase "like driving a Mini straight out of the showroom in 1989". Her engine is perfect, as is her gearbox. Everything works. She is supplied with 12 months MOT and no advisories, she is supplied fully serviced and she has been professionally set-up to optimise her performance. She's ready to enjoy.

History

Her elderly lady keeper first purchased her on the 20th of February 1993 from Southern Garages of Camberley, Woking (Southern Garage's sticker is proudly displayed in her rear window) and then drove her back to Sheffield. Four years prior to Mrs Woodford purchasing her she was supplied new on the 3rd of August 1989 by Wadham Stringer of 82 Goldsworth Road, Woking to the local Mrs Lesley Bradford. Mrs Bradford would cover just 7500 miles within her four year ownership, Mrs Woodford would cover but 10,500 miles in her 29 years.

The Mini’s 30th Anniversary Special Limited Edition

To celebrate thirty years of Mini production a very plush limited edition was offered in both black and red. Both were given an extra coat of lacquer to show how special they were, make them shiny. They were fitted with the special crests, a special red leather bound steering wheel and special half leather, red piped, lightening style seats, all bearing the Mini 30 celebration logo. Other special features included her security coded radio cassette and a leather bound gearstick surround. The Mini 30 was historic because most of its specification was transferred to the forthcoming Mini Cooper. In total 3000 were produced, 2000 were in Metallic Cherry Red and 1000 in Black. Only 600 had the optional sunroof as this one had. Today only 402 Mini 30’s remain registered in either colour, a 38 percent reduction throughout the last ten years [details taken from Chris Rees the Complete Catalogue of the Mini, Page 126]. Being a Mini 30th Birthday celebration addition she has the optional opening rear windows, rear seat belts and even her original radio cassette and speakers with codes.
