1983 Austin Mini 1275cc Carburettor - Fully Restored, Impeccable Condition and Owned 5 Years

Having been fully rebuilt, this Mini is in impeccable condition throughout. Her shell is pretty much rust free, Her underside is excellent. Following the rebuild she was placed in a high-end classic car storage facility and protected.

Running a 1275cc engine with a completely rebuilt head, she accelerates like a rocket. Utilising an early carburettor opposed to fuel injection she feels more like a classic and has tuning potential. The power and tuning potential make this one of the most sought after engines. Having had her professionally tuned and set up, we have optimised her performance. Upgraded to Hilo’s and Gaz shock absorbers plus new rubber cones, she stances nicely. Upgraded to ten-inch early disc brakes plus servo brake assistance she stood quickly. Being supplied with 12 months MOT with no advisories and with everything working perfectly, she is ready to enjoy. Being such an early example, she will be MOT and Tax Exempt within 17 Months which will save you money.

Emulating the early sixties inside and outside, she looks very period. Inside, her interior has been converted to the iconic twin gauge nineteen sixties speedometer, surrounded by flick switches and finished with a wooden Mota-lita steering wheel. Outside, she sits on the iconic ten inch nineteen sixties Minator alloy wheels surrounded by recently new wide Yokohoma tyres and sixties chrome trim opposed to wheel arches.

We believe she left the factory with her original suffix registration TDA115Y and so she is affectionally known as Daisy and the number plate is included in the sale although it is none transferrable.

Anything to note? She has been converted to a twin gauge speedometer and the clocks were changed in 2018 which altered her mileage, however her original clocks have been retained and are included and the mileage is documented accurately at 83,000. Also in 1983 you only had the option of 850cc or 998cc engines and accordingly the 1275cc / Brake Servo has been retrofitted from a 1990’s Mini and fully rebuilt (standard upgrade).

Fully Rebuilt 1983 Austin Mini 1275cc Carburettor (50bhp)- Owned 5 Years

  • We guarantee that your Mini will be mechanically perfect at the time of the sale. Mechanically perfect means that your Mini will be roadworthy with a recent MOT, that everything on your Mini will work correctly and that your Mini will be ready to enjoy.

However, it is important to note that Mini's are classic cars opposed to brand new cars, classic cars will have wear and tear on all parts opposed to being built to a new standard and accordingly they  will require ongoing maintenance and we cannot be held liable for any ongoing maintenance after the time of the sale. That being said, we have a dedicated phone line to assist you in maintaining your Mini and sourcing replacement parts.
