This genuine 1275GT Mini Clubman was built by British Leyland and registered on the 12th of September 1973 as a “Morris” Mini Clubman 1275GT. She has been recently subject to a full nut and bolt restoration which included over £11,000 of new parts and all parts were either sourced new or reconditioned. Furthermore, Geoff approximates it took 400 labour hours which are not accounted for, neither are some professional services offered by specifically chosen third parties and neither is the purchase cost of the 1275GT (which would be around £10,000 for the restoration project alone in todays market). Only 600 miles have been covered since the restoration.

The restoration was organised by the award winning author and very successful Chartered Engineer Geoff Miles and the restoration was throughly documented within a 236 page book all about the restoration of this car which has been professionally published. The book documents the restoration from start to finish and discusses his thoughts, feelings and what he did at each stage with intricate breakdowns of costings, new parts and many photographs. We have never encountered such a fascinating history. She comes complete with the largest history folder with a huge amount of invoices and MOT’s going back to 1976 and all the invoices.

She retains her original 1973 1275GT rust free shell with the rare features such as the early twin bolt front subframe. She has covered what is likely a genuine 28,000 miles from new with much documentation. She was also fitted with a documented and certified Unipart Goldseal Engine in November 1987 which has covered just 15,000 miles since. Such engine has been significantly rebuilt and most ancillaries are brand new where available or otherwise reconditioned. She has a handful of subtle upgrades to improve power output, reliability, handling, grip and comfort.

History wise Geoff (the author) has owned her for 7 years and before Geoff his good friend Anthony owned her for 14 years (albeit ownership passed to his mother at the same address and then back to Anthony in such time due to Anthony working and living abroad). Prior to Anthony’s, Anthony’s Mum’s and Geoff’s ownership she had three previous keepers between 1973 and 2001 (average of 7 years each).
