Brand New Build to Original Specification - Test Miles Only - 1971 Austin Mini 1000
This is a beautiful, brand new work of craftsmanship, combining rare originality with all new parts and panel-work.
The restoration specification was to create the feeling of driving a brand new vehicle out of the showroom in 1971, shortly after the Rolling Stones released Brown Sugar and The Doors released Riders of the Storm. The restoration cost a multiple of the asking price and she has done test mileage only.
Restored to Brand New Original Specification
Craftsmanship extends throughout all-areas, throughout all new steel panel-work and floors, new inner and outer sills, subframes and suspension, new brakes, refurbished 10 inch Dunlop steel wheels and new Carmac tyres, plus a complete rebuilding of her original, matching numbers 1000cc engine and rod change gearbox.
Touching Backstory
Being owned by an elderly lady since the nineteen eighties and having retired with her, this Mini was a hens teeth, completely original find, the original shell, twin bolt subframe, rod change gearbox, all of the coveted, often lost, original features. The only modification included her sunroof, fitted in the eighties.
It was agreed that her elderly neighbour, Robert, a keen historic motoring enthusiast, would restore her, that they would drive her together. Just before the restoration was completed her previous owner passed away and then Robert’s health deteriorated. Neither of them were able to drive her. This Mini is now looking for someone to love it as much as they did.
The Rally Winning Driving Experience
Behind the wheel she combines raw power with 600kg of weight and that legendary, Monte Carlo rally-winning classic-Mini handling to provide a terrific and/or terrifying drive. Fuelled by the classical carburettor fuelling method, she whisks you back to another era, the sounds and the smells of the sixties and seventies.

Getting behind the wheel today, she’s ready to roar, we have completed the restoration, comprehensively serviced her new brakes and cooling system, her engine and gearbox, then had her professionally tuned by a well known tuning company to optimise her performance. She is complete with 12 months MOT without advisories for peace of mind, albeit is tax, MOT exempt and ULEZ exempt. She is also HPI clear with no history of accidents or damage,
