36,000 Miles Genuine (and Matching Numbers) - 1994 Mini 35th Anniversary Birthday Celebration Edition (1 of just 176 Special Cars Remaining), Factory 1275cc Carburettor

This is a genuine low mileage (36,000 miles) example of the 1994 Rover Mini 35th Anniversary Birthday Celebration Edition (1 of just 176 special cars remaining) making her very rare and collectible, especially because she has the sought after 1275cc carburettor engine (factory fitted and matching numbers). We will expand upon each of these points in turn, then discuss her provenance and condition.

1. The Mini 35th Birthday Party Special Edition (1 of 176)

With a limited production of just 1000 cars, these birthday party Mini’s were special Mini’s. What made them special was that they were released in one of three colours (Pearlescent Nevada Red, Metallic Arizona Blue and the then classic Diamond White), that they proudly wore special celebratory crests and badges and that they boasted the oh so nineties “Jamboree” interior, a Jamboree being defined as a lavish and boisterous party or celebration (with factory optional rear seatbelts and opening rear windows). Today there are only 176 of these special editions remaining which is around 55% less than ten years ago, making them very rare and great investments.

2. 1275cc Carburettor Engine - Sought After for the Classic Motoring Feel, Power & Tuning Capability

Most importantly though, this would be the only birthday model to use and one of the few and last Mini’s to be fitted with the sought after 1275cc carburettor engine, opposed to modern fuel injection. Such engine was sought after for its power, tuning capability and the classical nostalgia of what we all remember and associate with classic cars; the carburettor method of fuelling and all of its beauties, sounds and smells.

She has her original factory fitted, matching numbers and 36,000 mile engine (official mileage records validating such below), her engine is beautiful. Having had her engine professionally tuned, we have optimised her power and she will be close to the factory 51hp output. Such output when combined with her 800kg weight, lack of wear and exceptional renowned rally winning handling provides for terrific and/or terrifying fun.

She will be supplied fully serviced for your peace of mind using the correct Millers Classic Mini Oil and filter as well as new NGK Spark Plugs and new Silicone HT leads. She is also supplied with 12 months MOT and no advisories.

3. Provenance

Her first owner Mrs Carol Olley of Newcastle purchased her new from Brammal’s showroom on Etherstone Avenue in Newcastle on the 10th of October 1994 and drove her for five years covering over 17,000 miles. It wasn’t until just before the the Millennium in 1999 when Mrs Cadden bought her, brought her down to Yorkshire and drove her for eleven years, covering a similar just over 17,000 miles. Feeling slightly tired, she was then restored over five years (2012-2017) before being purchased by our client Steven. Steven has owned her for five years now, Steven purchased her as an investment and accordingly has covered but 1000 miles since her restoration. Loss of storage forces her sale.

4. Condition

Most of her chromework is brand new and gleams, her alloy wheels and tyres are also brand new and cost over five hundred pounds. Her interior is very nice with a nice new headlining (none of the usual marks or sags). She is solid underneath, but has been welded over time in some places like most classic cars. Outside she's a very presentable example, very solid. She isn't a brand new, concourse example, but a useable classic car.
