This is one of the most lovely classic Mini's that I have had the pleasure of reviewing, driving and working on, she just encapsulates that iconic feeling that Mini's should give you.
Drawing back from discussing her quality, one of the most important points to cover is that she is ULEZ, tax and mot exempt, it's hard to find early Mini's in such wonderful condition.
Inspecting her, she has lovely bodywork without rust or filler. She was restored with all new metalwork five years ago and remains in the same condition, a testament to the preparation and skill.
Driving her, she's terrific. She combines 600kg of weight with the feeling of raw power and that rally winning, classic Mini handling. You will smile the widest and be scared.
Onto the boring stuff... she is supplied with 12 months MOT and no advisories. We have professionally serviced her original matching numbers 1000cc engine, cooling system and brakes, plus fitted new ball joints and wheel bearings. A well known engine tuner has professionally set up her carburettor to optimise her power. A Mini specialist has recently upgraded her with new disc brakes and servo braking for more safety. She is upgraded to Halogen headlights for better lighting. She is HPI clear. She has done 52,000 miles, this shows with her engine, I would take a punt and say her gearbox has been rebuilt as it is tort and precise, as if new. Her previous keeper has owned her for 14 years and has let her go to start a new classic car journey.
If you were super picky and wanted perfect you could wire up two of her after market gauges, figure out why her rev gauge isn't 100% precise and maybe recover a worn bolster on her drivers seat, but I don't think you would. I think the first person to see her will love her as much as I do.
